I've received some very exciting news which stays unverified at this time but if true would be a real game changer, that's no understatement.

We love technology, the fact that you are in this site even betrays that fact. We power users love the command line, so pardon me if i prefer to cycle through my data structures with konsole instead of dolphin. It simply easier for me that way and I have more control of what output is revealed. Another task that is mostly handled with the GUI is email usage.

After my previous post on Multimedia front-ends you can understand I was reasonably ecstatic about the xbmc, it was such a useful All-in-One tool, which seemed to do everything one could want in multimedia. Anyways, I was still on the prowl for other tools which can offer diversity and a choice in the field. Then it hit me that I had heard so much about boxee from Engadget and i even registered there not so long ago.

A few months back, I was tired of the ridiculously slow waits I had to endure when migrating data above 1TB, typically I have to migrate or back up between 1 and 2 tbs of Files. This usually happens during backups, data migration and so forth. Using usb 2.0 devices, it takes approximately 26hrs or more for this migration to successfully complete and the more my network increases in use, I know I have to expect even more data to administer.

Every multimedia System needs a feature packed and more importantly intuitive UI that'll allow all level of users to easily navigate and access their media resources in a convenient fashion. While deciding to create the Zi Networks Media Framework, I was predisposed to using Web Based Applications due to their ubiquity and portability. At this current time, the availability of several projects haven't allowed me the time to develop a customized application and due to the time-consuming nature of coding, I decided to use the available packages around to help me get started off quickly.

I was looking for a way to create a multimedia platform to centralise all multimedia in my life. The idea of duplicating media on multiple computers were solved when I implemented a Linux File server, but there were certain scenarios that the event didn't fully solve.
